I know it’s been going on for a long time, but it’s still unreal to me how open they are about it these days. Like they traded whistles for air horns.

I’m not comparing it to other racial slurs? I’m saying I’ve heard the argument that it’s offensive to non-white people.

Well, that’s exactly what I’m referring to. I’m not sure how widespread the mentality is, but I have definitely heard the argument (and it makes sense to me kind of) that it’s more offensive to other races than to whites in the first place.

So, not to agree with this dude, but I thought there was a mentality behind behind not using the term because it’s racist by implying that whites are superior unless qualified as trash? Like, one doesn’t hear of asian or black trash? Not because it’s mean to white people.

I’m not sure why folks don’t get this. Belichick realized forever ago he doesn’t have to answer anything he doesn’t want to in pressers. His boss certainly approves of how he handles them, and the league doesn’t seem to care enough to threaten him with anything serious enough to change his behavior.

Does he tho? It’s not like the league is going to suspend him. I think he just realized a long time ago he doesn’t have to do anything he doesn’t feel like when it comes to pressers.

Well, favorite contemporary artist. Until RTJ4 drops at least.

Phew, A$AP has been my favorite artist/act since A.L.L.A came out. It’s been years and I think I still run that album straight through once a week at least. Testing kinda meh but still.

This is my thinking too. I think there are legitimately interesting questions around how women’s divisions should be restricted, but most takes seem to be all-in on one side here with very little thought (e.g., “XY MEANS MAN DUHHR, or, “WHY IS PHLEPS ALLOWED TO RACE WITH HIS ADVANTAGES?!!?”).

There are no restrictions on who is allowed to race in the division where Phelps competes. There are in hers.

Yeah, that’s a good point that I couldn’t find a way to word.

Nobody innocent hangs themself. Someone that’s innocent doesn’t hang himself.

I’m not a great player of Magic Arena, the latest digital adaptation of the 26-year-old card game.

Yeah, I think Lue is a fine coach and possibly the best option for a team where Lebron is such a overpowering presence (no other stars yet even to the degree of Love or Kyrie). I know he takes jokes, and that people think of him as an admin on Lebron’s team, but I think Lebron respects him more for not ascribing to

I can’t believe this story isn’t going more attention beyond this site.

It’s probably a bit of both. Not exactly cross-posted, but when on Deadspin it shows as one of the three highlighted stories on the left.

Think I saw it on Jemele Hill’s feed first, but any time considering this mess, I like to remember that Chicago PD paid out $54 million due to misconduct in 2018.

To which Jones replies: “The next time they have you on will be the day I quit.”
