We had a 1985 Toyota van like that when I was little. I remember it listed in cross winds but was pretty reliable. We sold it to our neighbors in 1995 when we moved overseas and it was still in great shape. I remember when we came back and saw it the next time it was full of rust holes. The engine was under the

Thank you for this. I am a kindergarten teacher at an international school in Beijing. I am sending this photo to my coworkers right now.

I don’t think this trend will continue after the virus clears up however. Since January I have only put 16Km on my car when usually I would have driven about 400. As soon as I can get back to work I’ll be driving the same amount at before (approx 100km/ week), the factories probably will work overtime to make up for

I’m trying my best. Self quarantine isn’t too bad for me with my girlfriend, we have a lot to keep ourselves busy.

Fortunately Jalopnik has never been blocked, but none of the videos load without using a VPN.

I am very bummed that that it is being postponed (cancelled), but it is the right call.

I didn’t vote, but if there was a vote to bring back Michigan’s blue license plates I would be all over that! I was so disappointed when we changed to the lame white with blue letters.

I agree. That is awful. I don’t like Mini’s interiors to begin with but that makes it bad on a whole new level. And I love tactile things. I just finished repairing the volume knob on my home stereo (Muzishare X7) and was going to reward myself by listening to some Sly and The Family Stone on my fully functioning

I only wish that I could have had that experience. My dad appreciated cars, his first was a 59 Corvette and later drove a Karman Ghia, but he was more into books and learning than into mechanics. My mom’s father was a mechanic for much of his life but by the time I was born everyone was just in the habit of taking

My parents did that in the 70’s before I was born, they bought a VW and went on a road trip before having it shipped back. My cousin did the same thing with their Volvo a few years ago. They said it was an excellent experience. And I met a guy at a track day who also bought his BMW M2 (maybe 2? It was a beautiful

I’m stuck inside my place in Beijing with a virus all around thanks for helping me pass the time with such amusing articles that I also happen to agree with.

I was going to mention the 5 gen Camaro (because I have one). Of all the Camaros, it is the 4th generation i was never interested in, but it’s true that the catfish treatment made it worse off.

We used to say the same thing about Michigan too.

Michigan drivers do not understand the concept of driving slowly. I think that the speed limit is more like a speed minimum around where I live. And I am not complaining, I like driving fast when everyone else is too. When it every driver is on the same page it helps with the flow. Additionally, because of the

It’s interesting that I have never been asked that question before. In many ways I feel more free and safer than I do in the US. But YouTube is blocked and I can’t always get Mac and Cheese in the grocery store... for an expat as long as you don’t do anything stupid or reckless you will be fine. I am friends with

I love it all. I have been living in China for most of my life so the brutalist and utilitarian aesthetic has really had an effect on me.

I have always loved the stately appearance that the Hongqi gives off. I have also never seen one move under its own power before though. Anyway, this is messing with my mind. Like finding out your boring aunt is actually a pole dancer.

Wow. That’s a tough one for me. I have two cars, one is from 03 and the other is 2011. I can’t help but to baby and pamper my cars. I still take them to track days, autocrosses, along with commuting everyday and road trips, but I am over protective when it comes to keeping them looking like new. Or better than new.

I’ve been reading and commenting on Jalopnik since before 2010 and while I don’t deserve any recognition (I did get comment of the day once, and $kaycog gifted me with a picture of a lovely lady) I am glad that the commenters are being celebrated. The authors are awesome and I love reading the articles but the

I have to admit I also love the 2013 Mustang based solely on the tail lights. I drove 2012 GT for a short while I thoroughly enjoyed it, I didn’t get that special feel that I do when I’m with my Camaro.
