hey, leave my streamers posts alone ! lol but in all seriousness yeah what’s happening to kotaku is seriously a bummer and i’m sorry to all of you, you dedicated readers who’ve come to the site for years - decades even - only to watch capitalist vultures pick apart the slow rotting corpse

Because it's a guide, some people like to use them.

Get ready for more of that, because the site is changing its profile per the owner’s orders. Less sensationalist content, more guides. The decision has likely something to do with one of the editors participating in a podcast and outright lying about certain stuff to generate controversy - likely the straw that broke

I’m sad to hear this news, but given the business practices that WotC has been exhibiting over the last several years, I don’t guess I’m 100% surprised. Best of luck to Larian in whatever they do next. I’ll be watching for it.

Man why is this the only place defending this terrible show

I feel like this isn’t new info but it’s still a very clear mic drop. Baldur’s Gate three doesn’t need DLC or a sequel. It’s perfect the way it is and I’m looking forward to seeing what Larian tackles next. I’m hoping for another amazing, ambitious RPG in a different genre.  An original space opera would be cool.

Whoa guys, don’t you know you’re only supposed to be guides and walkthroughs?

Heard your Chief Executive Herb is pivoting to 50 guides a week and cutting down on news, so I guess I’m officially done with Kotaku.

Hey, ummm... Be careful.

This is a bummer but what would be cool is if Kotaku could be done with Jim Spanfeller, a man who is both an herb and hilariously bad at his job.

I would also like to thank Jalopnik and all the G/O Media sites for reminding me of society’s terrible obsession with materialism, excess, and capitalism as my computer’s CPU is brought to its knees under the weight of all the browser ads.

I can appreciate the sentiment, but any display of acquiring something only to destroy it is largely missing the point if it’s an objection to capitalism. Someone paid Tesla for the car, right? That’s already a win in their book even if you crush it.

I’m 99% sure ATL does, but these grifts bank people not being familiar with there they are, and it not registering that “hey, this person offering me a ride is not in the designated taxi/livery car area”.

They have to be able to enforce the ban, otherwise it’s practically pointless.

No, not in other words such as those :) To use it to steal keyfob signals you would have to be standing next to the person, it is the wrong tool for the job and has nothing to do with the (international) rise in car thefts via signal repeaters. It is basically a collection of preexisting open source penetration

Didn’t this entire fiasco with the Flipper Zero in Canada begin because some politician saw a TikTok with some idiot pretending to unlock a car with a Flipper Zero? And suddenly banning random gadgets sold on Amazon became the solution to looking like you were actually doing something to stop car theft!

i bet tech blogs inability to report competently doesn’t help.

Why do half of all YouTube thumbnails look like they are catching someone mid-shart?

The most surprising part of this post is that it was not a Nissan Altima

Clearly not or you’d know that’s not from GOT, that’s from Fellowship Of The Ring
