Upgrading your home is cheap if it’s a newer house/garage, but not if you have a 1930s era house with crap electrical. 

Yep, only way I could see it working is if they were convicted in a court of criminal law like R. Kelly.  That’s where the line has to be drawn.  But I will also say the restriction would need to be lifted if they have served their time and then go back to producing award worthy products.

I try to follow the 48 hour rule when it comes to these kinds of things as it usually takes a couple of days for certain things/evidence shake out.  Some people believe 72 hours is the way to go, but at the least 48 hours is gives some breathing room to let things settle.

But what have they done outside of being “distressed” and making some noise about contemplating some form of action.

Pretty much.  In Wisconsin, you can get away with a lot in the claims of self defense.  The prosecution screwed up, which is completely unsurprising given that it’s Kenosha.  Our DA’s office has been a shit show for a long time.
