If he had continued running full speed, since they’re both in the baseline, Báez would have still disrupted him and Arenado would have at best been able to only make a lollipop throw somewhere (likely to first, since he would have had to throw over top Báez)

Fair enough point. I forgot he was actually reaching that dreaded number.  I can still see him getting 4 years, which will end up being a 2 year deal.

With a broken leg only that is actually a clean break? Nah, he’ll still end up with a 4 year deal given his quality.  He may still end up with a bit less guaranteed, but he’s still going to get PAID by someone.

Based on the update you posted, Lauren, that’s about as good of news as he could have expected.  He’s still going to get a big pay day after the year and despite the injury, at least all his ligaments are intact going into the offseason, and the injury happened in week 4.    I can’t really blame him for flipping off

It’s not a successful impeachment unless the senate convicts.  And that’s not going to happen.  And even if it does, hooray Pence! :/

Playing in traffic would be a good start.

As someone who shoots professionally, they make a ton of sense. And, my rechargeables can last a good 35-40 hours of playing time before I need to recharge on my xbone.  They last farrrrrrrr longer lifespan compared to Regular AA’s.

I’ve just stuffed all the bad (usually cvs brand) or dying ones into my junk drawer.  Luckily, there’s only like 8 in there so far lol

Depends on how often you charge. They are generally rated for 1500 charges. Depending on how you use them, and how often, the life expectancy can change. I’ve been using one set of 4 double A’s for 5 years, which, considering that they are handling a high end camera flash pretty often, is a good sign.

I’m a professional event photographer and I live and die by rechargeables for my flash, so since I have several chargers and about 16 rechargeables so when I need to recharge my xb1 controller it’s no problem.

If he makes 7.6 million per year as reported by ESPN and since it’s an unpaid suspension, and he’ll miss 3 games out of an expected 13, I’d expect he will be forfeiting about $1.7 mil.  Not chump change.

July 31 is the non-waiver trade deadline. August 31 is the waiver trade deadline for a player to be eligible for the postseason on his new team. Teams basically declare they *may* be wishing to trade that player at some point, but not necessarily. It’s called revocable waivers, unlike a DFA situation. If 3 teams make

The blue line is a flaming bag of turds.  I avoid the line as much as possible, not that the red line is much better.

I don’t want to sound like I’m defending the guy, as he comes across as a blowhard, but the numbers he is talking about aren’t mutually contradictory. At least not according to this (there’s a significant difference of beliefs on China’s real numbers): https://chinapower.csis.org/military-spending/

They do keep him one year longer than they would have otherwise. Remember, the Cubs in 2015 kept him down in the minors for the first 12 days of the season so they could keep him longer. Boras was pretty pissed at the time.  A lot of fans were like WTF?!  But I thought it was very shrewd of them to do so.

Now that was one judicial put down. Not only denying the appeal, but making it in no uncertain terms that he (Judge Garcia) fully supports everything Judge Aquilina did in the courtroom.

Counterpoint is that the Red Sox are legitimately on pace to be one of the best teams of all time. So removing Sale from the lineup with an average pitcher wouldn’t change where the Sox are in the standings, removing Diaz from the Mariners would ensure they have no shot a wild card, much less the division.

Nah, someone had tweeted about it pretty much as it happened and was already all over social media that night. She didn’t talk about it on twitter herself until the next day.  (using her official account was definitely shady, to be sure)

Why the hell was the catcher trying to plant himself there at the last second with a fully charging baserunner?!  Sucks that the kid got hurt, but truth is, he made himself insanely vulnerable.

I’ve never forgiven Braun for his dragging Dino’s name through the mud and trashing his character like that. He has been a consummate pro for the nearly 25 years i’ve known him.
