Exactly this. I loved it as a stoned nihilistic teenager but as an adult I never, ever say to myself 'I want to listen to/watch The Wall'.

I'm with you on GoT. I've tried reading A Song of Ice and Fire six times at the behest of people whose taste I trust, but I just can't engage. Same with the TV show.
It was a liberal arts college, so, yeah.
I had no idea there was any sort of mythos surrounding this band. I like them okay, but mostly they were just 'the band that my friends in college always put on at parties', y'know?
I feel irrationally angry when I'm made to know about carpool karaoke and Jimmy Fallon lip synching.
Abortions for some, miniature American flags for the others!
"You love your aunt's and former babysitter's daughters minions memes and sassy image macros and melodramatic vagueposting, right?"
Damn, and you're excitable!
I have been waiting for it for forever! I thought I saw something about it coming out in May but now I'm not seeing anything.
More satisfying than the white knuckled terror of seeing someone try to delete a file?!
Erdrich is just the best. I'm so glad this review reminded me she had a new book out.
It's always perplexing to me when people love Sid Vicious and hate Courtney Love. People level the same accusations at them, but one is reviled and one is…not revered, per se, but not quite as reviled, either.
I want this.
And it would've been a gain in bisexual representation, but for some reason it's treated as a mythical orientation in film and TV. Characters are always "curious" or "secretly gay" or "don't want to define it". Super annoying.
To be fair, Michael's can be really great for finding witchy stuff.
I want this to be a movie more than the one in the article.
I love both fakelore and true crime so totally in agreement with you. There was an HBO documentary about it that aired at SXSW, "Beware the Slenderman", and I'd love to see it but all I've heard is that HBO is releasing it 'later this year'. Boo.
Oh hey, Band of Horses is still a thing! That's nice. I listened to them a lot during a breakup in 2008 and then never again.
(she was Reanimated)
Yeah, they did, which seems like kind of weird move for Victorians, but whatever.
