Anybody can act when guided by a competent director. Niki Caro has a decent, if understated filmography, but not much experience with big budget set pieces and action. I don’t think there’s anything to worry about in regards to the human element, but don’t be surprised if the action is generic.

Unfortunately, without the connection to creepypasta as a storytelling genre and the hysteria Slender Man (as a fictional meme) inspired in the real world, it ends up coming across as a story about a creepy-handed man with tentacles grabbing underage girls in the middle of the night.
