I would go the Indian way (which I feel is much tastier anyway).  Mix Chickpea flour (or Graham Flour as they call it, and that version I think is finer in texture actually, or maybe vice versa) and mix in cold water .. it will be very sticky...coat and fry...no double “breading” needed.  although I bet you could coat…

I sometimes prefer warmed milk....its not uncommon in many parts of the world. I also like the cereal-infused milk that is room temperature at the end of the bowl. Basically I’m not an absolutist and distrust people who put down a line in the sand based on personal taste.
