If its priced accordingly, and there are good records of both the original damage and repairs, no problem. At some point, there would be enough damage for a hard no, but in plenty of cases you can score a good deal if it’s been done right.

They should have let it go for the 17k on BaT. That’s probably the best chance at someone with NFG-money sale that they’re going to get.

I wouldn’t be marketing this one as a special edition or especially rare etc, especially since they removed a lot of those features. This is just a nice old beetle in (presumably) good condition. Seems on the high side for that, but it does seem to be presented well and should be a decent driver based on description.

I am so pumped for this race. Trying to make it out there for this one — I work professionally with one of the large resorts on the strip and their prep work is already full steam ahead. So far, no luck in getting a hook up though. Between Las Vegas being like a completely different universe and other cool shit like

For 22k you might as well get a track-only toy, at least you can hoon it on the track and get some use from it. I don’t see the point of this. These are really handsome cars, but not something you’d prize in your garage.

These are cool becasue if anything, they are different. This particular one doesn’t strike me as a 14k car. Maybe about half that, given its rarity (although I feel like I see these fairly often at car shows). It runs, but there are no gauges so its not like you can drive this while working on it. Running gear appears

that was actually my first thought as well. The interior resembles a computer that I built about 15 years ago in a case that looked like a jet engine. RGB LEDs everywhere because gamer.

What really sold it was the timeout doll on the auction block.

This is the newest way to get 3 windshield wipers n a vehicle. Other options would be older roadsters (I think some MGs had triple wipers), old E-types and a vintage land cruiser. If 3 windshield wipers are your thing, I’d buy an MGB.

This scheme could work on...a fiat 500, a beetle, or some other funky not-taking-itself-too-seriously car. It doesn’t really work on an SL though. The R129 is classy as fuck and this just doesn’t fit. Speaking of which, a Fit would be good here too.

NP, although for me I’d have its Magnum brother. I wouldn’t want to be associated as a Charger driver though...Whenever you see shit on social media or the internet with street takeovers, burnouts in crowds etc its almost always chargers or challengers these days.

They had a bunch of 5cyl diesels including the legenday OM617. Different, I know I know....but its the answer :)

There are a number of reasonably well kept mk4 TDIs for this price or less around my area. Why would you want one that has been hacked up and made to look stupid? Going to guess that the original engine broke its timing belt (seems about right for the mileage)...which is scheduled/regular maintenance, this thing has

My parents have a mk4 jetta tdi just like this and is going on 300k with just routine maintenance. Most reliable car we’ve ever owned by a long shot. The 1.9 TDIs seem to be extremely robust, you’ll probably hear a few others chime in here too.

Wow I didn’t realize the CTR was 44k. Having the ITS priced in the 50s seems to go head to head with the Audi S3, albeit still being FWD.

If this thing was a low mile creampuff, I could see 25k. It would go into a private collection and rarely get driven. However this one is modded — for 25k get some real OZ rally wheels and forget about the coffee can muffler

I get that this is probably just a derpy “vw sucks” post or whatever, but my moms TDI has been the most reliable car we’ve owned by FAR. Still running 300k+ today, with only minor maintenance like replacing woorn suspension bushings.

The only real concerning things on that list are the rust and air suspension. Everything else is pretty standard and/or easy to fix. Many VW and Audi quirks are extremely well documented and pretty easy to find. If you want to drive a cream puff, go lease something.

Formula E would like a word with you

Seems like a good deal. Hagerty valuation puts a “good” example at over 30k, which is what my pulled-out-of-my-ass number was too. Looks clean enough from the outside, assuming the interior is included in the sale.
