Nothing on that front end fits together. This has either seen an accident and been really poorly repaired (would check title for washing considering its listed as clear), or dingus decided to take everything apart to smoke the headlamps, lacking the basic competence to reassemble it properly. Both red flags. Might be

Yeah the pipes and hoses are fine in my book. I have them on my Saturn as they are functional more than dress-up. The valve cover and intake though? Woof.

Always liked and still like these. Not this one though. The wheels are atrocious, hood is silly, and things like a chrome valve cover and pep boys gas cap really give me pause. I’d pay this for a well maintained stock example, or even a tastefully modded one. This is neither. I had a Stealth that gave me many years

I legit thought this was 3,999 and kicked around NP. Another digit? lol nah. This would be fun to complete and fuck around with -- slam it, throw a 2JZ or something in it and send it. But maybe only at 4k.

I think this would be a SOHC M103 engine (180hp or so), not the DOHC (which would be designated the 300-24), but it is’nt clear in the ad and there aren’t any actual pictures with the badge in it. The M103 was also found in the 300E of the day, the SL got the later M104 engine with the 320SL. Pretty easy to work on in

What a waste of lentils

Exactly — this is a collector car. It’s for diehard ford people who need to have a “rare” sort of car thats not a mustang and can’t afford something from the 60s and/or want something more modern. Not my thing, but I know people who would jump at this.

The Lesabre pulled off their appearance-only package much better. I guess this is their “midsize” offering in comparison to the regal? I never quite understood the different GM cookkie cutters.

This is a great price, easy NP.

I had an RX8 and it was quite pleasant inside the car. Super smooth and loved to rev, but yeah outside it sounded like a vacuum. With exhaust mods it sounds like a weedwhacker, there’s just no way to make it sound good. The old 12As were even worse.

Brodozers. Pick any of them, preferably diesel. It’ll have a 6 inch exhaust — the driver will punch it trying to aggressively pass...truck will hardly go anywhere, emit a loud BLUHHHHHHHHHH for about 5 seconds, hardly any rev change and then be done. Repeat about 10 seconds later. You can literally hear it a mile away

But how will it look with super wide (and extra spacers for good measure) chrome rims and extremely low profile tires? Because that seems like the actual market for most of these trucks. Throw in always-extended tow mirrors (and no hitch) for good measure.

Marketing and branding. There are a lot of V8 purists out there.

Interesting you say that... the modern day Opel GT shared a platform with the Saturn Sky and Pontiac Solstice, which had the SS engine in their upper trims. The GT and Sky were nearly identical save for a couple small details like painted areas of the taillights and a euro spec rear fog light.

I get the novelty factor, but this is a pretty low spec, ordinary wagon overseas right? This is probably going to go to an enthusiast who will swap in a M54 and make it a “m3 wagon” clone...but not for 12k.

My wife and I are in that bracket and I can’t stomach the thought of a 1k car note unless its a 2 or 3 year loan. We bought a jeep GC last year and even at $600/mo its cringey to see that much coming out month to month. Maybe we’re just cheap or old fashioned — but even averages hitting $700/mo holy shit.

The bulbous back and tail lamp treatment makes me think of the Nissan Leopard/Infiniti J30

for 15k you can actually get a “JDM dream machine”, not the USDM tribute of it. Or you can get a hiace, Delica, Bongo, or any other quirky actual JDM vans. Certainly looks clean, but lots of options out there for 15k.

Average mileage (pre-covid mind you, I don’t know what it is since then) for a car is about 12k. At average mileage, we’d be looking at 204k. So this averaged less than half of the average annual miles, putting it roughly in the lowest quartile of 2005s (I know median <> average but bear with me) if distributed by

Well yeah, if you narrow your criteria to specifically to that of an S2000 you’re only going to want an S2000. You were 1 second away from “and a Honda badge”. There are plenty of good options for 2 seat performance roadsters at 14k.
