Bradley’s takes tend to be shitty, so GMG might have the edge here.
A V8 WK2 Grand Cherokee has 360hp/390ftlbs of torque which is getting pretty close to the TBSS. The SRT8s still command a lot of money because racecar, but your run of the mill 5.7L hemi is no slouch, even if it lacks the visual fun of the SS or SRT. For 17k I’d be a lot more inclined to pick one of those up vs this…
Yeah this site has gone to absolute shit. But in Rory’s words, we should “grow up” about it (by which I assume he means not endorsing the business he appears to be running into the ground more).
Is Jalopnik actually actively TRYING to lose readers or what? I literally only come to this site for Rob’s morning post now (thanks to Torch and Tracy leaving, and Rory acting like a baby in the comments...not a good look). This is what we’re greeted with.
As a bonus, the glue used to keep that plastic shell together gets tacky and separates in...you guessed it, heat. Coincidentally, and apparently right at the temperature a car gets in the sun, in the summertime. I went through 3x sunvisors in my rx8 (and eventually just took the passenger side out, because the bottom…
Counterpoint, this is an excellent chassis and car. When the Renesis (inevitably pretty much) goes bad, most of these are sent to the scrapyard. The 13B is not a super cheap engine these days, and the Renesis is also not easy to rebuild. My money/time would go to an ecotec 4cyl or similar. I’d rather see these on the…
A primered project car with motor issues. I know Porsches have skyrocketed but ah...not this one.
That was an epically bad take, and those takes seem to be the only reason Erin is here.
Ah yes, a “site for us” that is consistently broken, and many content writers who just appear lazy and/or don’t give a shit.
regardless, driving like he’s in fuckin IDDQD mode
I appreciate that the car in the title image has really shitty panel gaps.
Is it me or is removing an intake manifold not really that big of a deal to do a 50k-interval job like sparkplugs? Intake tubing is usually just a series of hose clamps, the filter housing, and MAF/MAP sensor, and breather hose.
My wife had an 04 4cyl 4G64 eclipse that she used for about 12 years. It was dead reliable and served us really well. It wasn’t a particularly exciting car to drive, but for college-to-20s reliable economic cheap transportation it was pretty damn good. The real sad part of the model was on the performance side...with…
Also my immediate first thought on reading the QOTD
I think it’s more for the clicks on the submission side. Our expectations are already really low on delivery...I don’t even bother to check it. I do enjoy debating the question in comments though.
GTI is compromise car. It does many things well enough, but does not excel beyond that. For a lot of folks that is great -- and its a dash of excitement in an otherwise depression-tier shitbox sector. I was in the same boat with my GTI -- I wanted more on the performance front after 2 years of ownership. That said,…
This is somewhat common. I have no idea why, but hardly unusual for US-spec vehicles to have blinking red, while still having a “spot” for amber tails. I assume these days that it has to do with DOT lighting regulations that we all love. I have a Jeep GC and it’s an annoyance that I’ve noticed:
Counterpoint: Wayne is just Wayne on tv, a normal guy. Every other show has to have some sort of edgy cool spiky hair, leather-wearing soul-patched shitbird screaming at the camera and pulling “pranks”.
Same, I actually have all of their old seasons on a hard drive somewhere (before they were aired in the US) and they’re really great.
