This thing is old. Might have been really neat in the 90s but suspension has come a long way in 20+ years. Ultimately if you want a single arm design, what’s wrong with a Canondale lefty? I’ve always found them to be a bit gimmicky but they do work.

Its in line with the market...I bought a used trailhawk earlier this year and they were very tough to find in the specification we wanted (took a few months to find what we wanted)

Yeah this is right around the price of a lightly used V8 trailhawk (which has 360hp/390tq from the 5.7), includes most of those options (including those great seats) plus the offroady bits. There’s also the durango SRT which is pretty much the same but with a 3rd row of seats. There must be some market for the car

Took a good looking car to start, tried to make it into another good looking car, and completely utterly failed. If anything it looks like a hideously deformed mk2 TT (which, why not just get a TT?) that still does not look as good as a TT.

The Mitsu DOHC 6G72 (3 liter v6 in stealth and 3000gt, diamante) was 220 NA HP too, and the 2JZ at 200ish NA. It seems most of the japanese brands had a SOHC around 150-170hp, then a DOHC version around 200, and turbo at 300ish

I’m pretty sure these were about 150hp. The VG33 (later versions, also shared w/later pathfinders etc) were closer to 180. We had a pathfinder with the VG33 and it was pretty slow. 150hp back when it was introduced was pretty standard for a v6 of that size. This was on par with other 3 liter V6s of the era (exceptions

Alternately a CVPI with a few thousand in mods, and a can of black spray paint will get you pretty close

That’s pretty cool! I’ll have to check it out

Not to mention, this is not exactly breaking stuff here. Almost everything links back to a 10 year old reddit thread. Even the linked source for a lot of it (screenrant) is a 2018 blog that pretty much just regurgitates (many links embedded) the Reddit post and a HuffPost story.

Most of the “garage” shows these days are garbage. Hey we “f0und” a 68 chevelle in a barn just cruising around town — how did nobody see this before! We have 2 weeks to get it done before auction XYZ! (cue SBC, generic paint work, 20 inch chrome rims, maybe some subs in the back).

I bet you call them “ricers” too

NP. Most of these project base cars have either been modded by big mike and his timeout doll, or rusted/parted out. A solid frame and decent unrotted body is worth it. Anything you want to update can be ordered from a catalog. Easy to work on, tons of expertise and guidance out there, cheap mechanical parts. Two

You’d be way better off with a 12A rebuild or 13B swap than a renesis

It gets a lot of hate, but I think it treads the line of ugly/cute pretty well. At least it was different for it’s time. Now everyone seems to have copied the sinngle headlight, top mounted indicator look (kia, jeep, etc).

For a first driver, I’d argue it is in fact too slow. A 20 second 0-60 time in a tin can does not leave a lot of room for error if you pull out in front of someone. On the roads these days, this is not something I would give a young driver who is not used to calculating those types of moves.

My eyes were drawn to virtually every other car in the photos. That Ligier is fantastic.

I agree, but there are a lot of people out there who want to make a quick buck, regardless of how much damage they do. It isn’t unusual to hear about people trying to steal copper wire not knowing it’s live, and getting electrocuted. Similarly, not unusual to hear about hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage for

Man when I used to travel for work (which hopefully I can do again soon?) it was always SOOOO nice after a long bumpy or late/early flight to sink right into the back of a nice clean black car outside of the terminal. Some of them were dirty or smelled smoky but most were pristine and clean inside and it was

Uh....have you seen the car market lately?

My in laws have a manufactured home built in the late 80s. You’d be hard pressed to tell it wasn’t stick built. Their community is nice too, actually have a yard and driveway etc.
