Idk man I had an RX8. That tow hook got its fair share of use.
Also a GC TH owner here...comment checks out.
Set your expectations low enough and you’ll never be disappointed!
The market has always been pretty cheap for these. Even with the covid used car madness, this seems like a pretty realistic and reasonable price for the driver condition. NP, and not really smelling a scam with it either.
My Delica also has an altimeter. Completely useless, but kinda neat.
Drives a modded FR-S as a sophomore in college and has 4500 to buy a second vehicle? Damn, I was lucky to treat myself to a box of kraft mac n cheese for dinner, after rent and tuition.
Agree here, the clamshell rear doors are such a fantastic idea. The rx8 had them too, and for a coupe, it was surprisingly easy to get in and out, without ruining the profile. I believe the challenge is that with the door design like that, there’s no B pillar, which is a structural element. Side impact and rollover…
Power profile with DI turbo 4s are great. Torque hits extremely low in the range, which makes it super useable in the real world. NA V6s and V8s typically have the traditional curve with peak closer to redline. It’s just a different character.
Prices on these are pretty low, due to their reputation for lacking floors. This one has a weird mound of dirt around it? I’d check it out but $2k is a lot for a parts car. I’d rather get something that is known running and driving and patch up the inevitable rust. Or pay a bit more for a previous owner to have done…
This looks fantastic. I was driving in Australia pre-covid and they have adopted roundabouts quite heavily. It keeps traffic moving and instead of a stop and idle, you’re at least crawling. Consider the alternative 6-way stoplight intersection in the example you posted — that would be an absolute nightmare.
I can’t wait to get back to business travel, nor can most of my colleagues. Granted, I’m not one of those people who was 100% on the road, so it’s a perk for me. Most of my clients are looking forward to in-person meetings as well, despite the expense.
MB Automatics are possibly the toughest transmissions ever built? LOL. Consider yourself lucky that you never had the common issues of 1/2 flare, loss of reverse, or loss of all forward gears. They generally fixed those issues in later iterations of the 722, but not this era.
The diesel is the one to have. The gasoline engine paired with low gearing and 2nd gear start make for a leisurely ride around town. Once you get up higher in the RPMs, the motor is excellent, but how often do you really do that in a chunky wagon?
Looks amazing in that illustration, but I don’t think these were quite that low and sleek. Makes me want to chop and lower one though.
They’re all over Jersey
Let’s also give partial credit to short left lane merges, and onramps with stop signs on the end.
So they used the same marketing department that spearheaded Buick’s awful “that’s a buick?” campaign. Makes sense given their sharing of models too. I wonder if they will use real people, not actors...
Well, this is going to be fantastic when everyone makes the move to utilize alternators for crypto mining and then nobody can upgrade or use their cars
I never understood flareside beds. In general I’ve heard its for people who don’t want the wheel wells in their box area but it’s not like the wheels went anywhere, they just made the box smaller. The only truck I can think of that really wears it well style wise is an early 90s F150. Ranger is not bad but not great.
