Yeah I said this somewhere deep in the greys... Like I am happy for a kick-ass woman MI6 agent but why does there still have to be a typical “Bond-girl” for her to bed... seems unnecessarily male-gazey in an otherwise fun looking movie

Agreed. It seems like a nice product, but “Fracture” is like naming a snack food “Salmonella.”

He’s really one of the last people on the planet who should tweet/talk about women ever, and especially today.
Seconded. It’s never sat well with me that news articles almost always use anti-choicers’ preferred euphemism when describing them.
thank you for using the term ‘anti choice’ instead of pro life. Anti choice is more reflective of the actual stance.
This has happened in the last 2 days: It came out that Sessions had 2 meetings with the Russian Ambassador during the campaign, then lied about it under oath to the Senate (that part’s the felony).
Why is he making the black power symbol?
It’s writing like this that keeps me coming back to The Root. You guys are doing good work and this site has quickly become one of my go to’s.
I thought this was the best thing on the internet:
Lane splitting is explicitly legal in CA.
Personally, the size has never been a problem (that’s what she said) and I was a trim carpenter for years. Had a nicer larger one that walked off a job, and bought one like this and it served it’s purposely amazingly for years. Granted, it only ran two, sometimes 3, 16 or 18 gauge nail guns at a time, but it always…

First, the only reason not to answer such a straight-forward question as “is Islam a religion?” is if the answer is “no”. Second, if Islam isn’t a religion, it’s pretty hard to imagine on what possible grounds the other two abrahamic religions could be. Third, to refuse to recognize a religion or to purposely conflate…
If by automatically, you mean the thermos of coffee flying around the cab bouncing off the hazard switch randomly, then yes, automatically.
I’m assuming the hazards come on automatically?
Thanks! Second one worked.
This is really shaking my faith in the intellectual honesty of the Tea Party.
@bremskraft1: Well, that was the only scenario in which I could imagine a doctor might need to hold a woman down during childbirth.
@cait98: Consent to what exactly? And your sympathy doesn't count here. This isn't about bedside manner. This is about someone shoving their hands and machines and instruments into your vagina and anus when you don't want them to. This is not about women learning to be reasonable. This is about the medical system…
@cait98: I agree that it isn't rape, but "consent" is a tricky concept when it comes to childbirth. Oftentimes, things are presented to you not as options, but as imperatives. You CAN say no, but believe me, it is very very hard to do so in the moment, when you're scared, in pain, and feeling cornered.
@cait98: I don't understand your concept a childbirth. The things you mention "thrashing around in pain," etc. pretty much only happen in the movies. Also, things don't "need to be inserted" to get the baby out without your consent. Nor do vaginal exams need to happen without your consent. It is not medically…
