This car is the closest I’ll ever get to a modern 240sx and I’m fine with that. It ticks every single box for me. I’m not in love with the big grill, but I don’t hate it.

I’ll be buying one when it launches.

it looks like they’re going for the G-nose look. It needs a bumper for that.

This is flawless.

The angular almond shaped headlights are what make the grille look out of place. The cowards wouldn’t commit to round headlights like the S30 and S130 had. The way they explained it, they wanted to have S30 ZG front end, but hated the headlight covers. It’s like they don’t get the details that made the S30 look so

Since the front is so closely modeled after the 240Z, how about some cornering lights where the blinkers are on the original?

Looks pretty fantastic to me. If the can keep the basic one around the $30k the current 370Z starts at, and bring it to market as a 2022 next August they might have a winner on their hands.

you may have noticed some of our sister sites have been given a similar treatment over the last few months

An Infiniti Q60 Redsport is almost $60K. Value prop is the issue.

what most people fail to realize is that the new 2022 nissan Z has been hiding in plain view this whole time.....

The chassis isn’t really the bad thing.

since birth the number has designated the displacement.

the oddball was the 432Z, whose naming scheme was more akin to the Old’s 442.

100% there with you. Porsche has been selling the same car since 1964. Mazda’s been selling Miatas for 30 years.

Yeah, that was one thing I was thinking: if it’s on the same platform, that means there’s already going to be a massive aftermarket right out of the gate. Owners won’t have to wait around for performance parts to show-up, because 90% of the aftermarket performance bits for the 370Z should bolt right on.

I am totally fine with the new Z being an incremental improvement on the 370Z. In fact, to me, it just means the car will be easier to maintain and modify. If it keeps the stick, I’m going to be pretty tempted by this.

calm down rambo

Better than calling it the Z00?

A platform that’s been under Nissans and Infinitis for over 12 years

You just described the Porsche 911.

Make it a 2+2.
