These fuckers are the worst early-game baddies around, and they remain a serious PITA for a long time. I finally went back to clear them out around level 70 or 80, and by then I had acquired a heavily-upgraded morning star and equipped it with the Hoarfrost Stomp ash of war - these guys are vulnerable to blunt impact

Hard agree. The first time I found that area, I was just barely leveled enough to make it through over the course of far too many hours and wasted deaths. But then I stumbled my way into the boss battles (plural) and managed to beat them both. Happily did NOT go back until recently as part of the plot, by which time

Exactly. Go back and load up THE WITCHER 3 and create a brand new save. Spawn as Geralt, and see how fast you can find some enemy or dungeon that will kill you dead. It won’t take long. There are PLENTY of places in that massive, and massively-praised, open-world that you are simply not capable of dealing with until

ER is my first Fromsoft game and I’m old. Like, “the first game I remember playing was INDY 800 in a bowling alley-old,” even before PONG. So even at a 165 hours in the game at level 90 as of last night, I haven’t beaten Radahn yet, let alone Melania or anyone serious, after beating Renalla last week. But I’m having a

Steam tells me I have 163.8 hours in this game; my one and only save is level 86 and I have no idea what most of those buffs, nerfs and changes do, lol. I’m spending too much time enjoying the journey solo, I guess, to worry much about beating major bosses (beaten Rennala, ass handed to me several time by Radahn,

I’m a 53 year old man with two college degrees, a state professional license, three adult kids, a mortgage, a team of subordinate employees doing hands-on work for one of the top ten largest companies on the planet, and I still get excited knowing a potentially-great game is about launch. I expect I’ll drop dead in

What a long, strange, weird and depressing trip since that fateful day when David Crane, Bob Whitehead, Alan Miller and Larry Kaplan walked out of Atari, Inc. to form their own videogame company ...

I sometimes feel like I’m the only gamer in the world who doesn’t know who these people are and doesn’t give a shit about them. Probably because I was playing Pong in my living room about the time their parents were being born.

There was a mediocre Roy Scheider movie in the same era called BLUE THUNDER broadly about a police super-chopper. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0085255/

Five paragraphs talking about some made-up term that’s “easy enough to descibe” that ... you don’t even define it, let alone describe it? Nope, not enough bait to get me to click another stupid video that should have been an essay.

I have two suggestions of VASTLY different game systems to offer people who find the current edition of D&D somewhat flat and missing something: Call of Cthulhu and Traveller (especially old school “little black book” classic Traveller). They are both far too deep and complicated to give good overviews in a Kinja

The DC Designs F-14 is now available on the XBox as well through the in-game Marketplace as of a couple days ago.

Or, if you’re already a dedicated simmer playing/flying MS FLIGHT SIMULATOR, just pony up the $35 for DC Designs F-14A/B payware expansion, available on JustFlight. Not “study level” but realistic enough for a good degree of challenge as well as a hell of a lot of fun to fly. And of course, some smart and talented

As someone with nearly 2,000 hours in KSP since 2013 (the Steam release, version 0.19), I can say with 100% honesty and sincerity that this game has been the absolute 100% best return on my ~$20 gaming investment ever. I can only hope KSP2 eventually lives up to the original.

It was fashionable to shit on FO76 at launch and for the first six months or more after, and frankly for good reason. I started playing several months after launch and after finishing the main questlines, it was just a pointless grind. Fun in a mindless way when you just want something to do, but the griefers, dupers

And 1917.

It’s got a big cop motor ...

That was a fun show, one of my wife’s faves. On our first trip to Dragon*Con in 2009, she wore slit-eye contacts, fangs, and Merlotte’s t-shirt. It was a REALLY great (long!) Labor Day weekend.

One reason I love GOG. They make an affront to unravel the byzantine authorship, publishing and copyright issues to repackage a lot of classic PC games so they can be played on current systems, and sell them DRM-free for a reasonable price. If only a similar service could do the same for classic console games.

I’m playing it on a ~2 year old XBox One S and sure, the graphics aren’t that great (WITCHER 3 is prettier by far) but with 18 hours in, I haven’t run into any significant bugs and only two crashes, neither of which affected save progress. I have a friend playing on a PS4 Pro and she has had a roughly similar
