True story. Before Nirvana, I listened to Power 96 (radio rap/pop). Then I saw Smells Like Teen Spirit, bought Nevermind, and never looked back. Nirvana was a seminal moment in my life.

Tech people build and maintain the water filtration and cleaning system for the potable water traveling through pipes. They work and control the power plants that produce electricity. There would not be any shop techs without the people designing and creating new products. So, you’re wrong. Tech people do actual work…

Software development is engineering of a different type where your laboratory, workshop, proving ground, and production platform are all virtual.
