I think his point is that there is no solution that would be both true to source material and in-offensive. Analysis and criticism of this is a good thing though and you could make an argument for NOT using such source material OR being untrue to the source material in a way that makes the IP less offensive.

If you have a problem with the source material, then direct your ire there, not at the people who are trying to faithfully adhere to the source material.
