I would imagine the company doesn’t want to give out great reviews all the time especially if they want to be able to fire you on a whim without any issues. That way they can point to a history of reviews.

That’s not what they said at all. Right now there are laws in states forbidding car manufacturers from selling directly to consumers. Nissan should be allowed to sell directly to whoever wants to buy one without having to use a middle man.
