Man you and I watched two completely different shows I guess. FWIW, I think Prudence is probably one of the most powerful characters in the show. She’s clearly smarter, stronger, and far more dedicated than anyone else, at least in Sabrina’s age group. Her actions are entirely about proving how valuable she is to the

Following the twist, their rivalry morphs into a story about a white woman seeking to unseat a multiracial, black woman from her social station—specifically by exposing the truth about her heritage. The term “half-breed” should be seen as quite loaded in this context.

May I quote myself?

Only idiots can’t figure it out. All of these people have way better costumes and no hint of Blackface. Imagine that!

“At the end of the day, he built a self sustaining media empire.”

“...continuing his agenda of making black women look bad in all his films.”

At the end of the day, he built a self sustaining media empire. And he did it in Atlanta where everyone said it could not be done. And no one has really been able to replicate here. beat the devil, but give him his due

Like, the whole “Americans are suffering at home” argument would be valid, if these people gave a goddamn shit about that at all. Instead they try to take away healthcare, incarcerate and kill nonwhite people, suppress wages, make it illegal to be a woman or trans person and get adequate healthcare, among a laundry

Sales Pitch... JJ probably told a quite a few people...

I think a lot of them also do it because it pisses off “the blacks”/”the libs”/”SJWs”, and they think there is enough plausible deniability for them to still be accepted in society when they get exposed to the wider public, and they say stuff like “that’s not who I am”/”God knows my heart”/”I have many black friends”

People absolutely should be able to do whatever they want with their hair. The trouble is, white people don’t leave well enough alone. They decided to legislate against hair like mine. They decided that it was unkempt and unprofessional. They decided that dress codes don’t allow for afros and cornrows.

My first thought when I saw that pic of Kendall was

No, not even that. Her family didn’t style this shoot, and while they are guilty of plenty of appropriation, as a person with two decades experience in front of and behind the lens, to my eye, this was just styling the hair to make the clothes more evocative, which is common and really what this editorial was about.

When I saw this controversy I knew immediately that the people arguing appropriation were young people who were ignorant of (fashion) history.

This is Alla Nazimova. Often billed as just Nazimova, she was one of the great stars of the first half of the 20th century and always, prominently, a fascinating style icon. This picture was taken 98 years ago (or maybe last week?)

Geoffrey Rush was the best part of these movies by far. He totally sold the first movie and was perfect throughout.

Yeah, but Pirates already seems pretty tapped out. It seems like a weird candidate for preemptively rebooting. There’s only so much you can do with pirate-based horror/fantasy.

What they should have done was a Pirates Cinematic Universe. I know, I know! But hear me out.

it’s time for a reboot
