Yeah! BOOOO! Booo, says I... because flavored Perrier is where it’s at. The Green Apple flavored one? Yes please. Oh, and Polar Seltzer, their stuff’s carbonation is on point and drinking a liter makes you feel like a hydrated goddess. Oooo, and Schwepps...

As righteous as a #BlackBackup app would be, the only thing that terrifies White people more than a Black person is several Black people, so lots of folks likely to get shot in that situation.

This what I take issue with. I don’t care about the color of the actor playing the character, as long as the actor is a good actor, I care about effort they put into the makeup, costume, and effects. No one looks good in this series from what I can tell.

So many things can be true about this situation. 1) The racists are terrible and deserve scorn for tripping about which race plays a fictional orange alien with green eyes. 2) The .005 second shot of Starfire in the trailer looks trash and it’s not the actor’s skin color that’s the problem.

Oh, there’s problemas gallore with the Titan’s trailer.
But let’s not pretend Starfire’s characterization as Inhuman’s Medusa’s distant cousin it’s not one of them.

The way George Perez drew Starfire’s features strikes me as entirely consistent with a black or biracial woman. And despite the odd tendency these days to call her skin color “orange,” the dialogue in New Teen Titans routinely described her skin as golden. It always struck me as sort of a golden-brown — and one not

This one’s more confusing than usual.  Starfire has always been a woman of color. She’s orange you guys. There’s more than enough to rage about in the Titans trailer without getting hung up on Starfire’s casting.

Honestly, though, this series feels like it’s destined for the same fate as Inhumans.

Titans easily could have cast a white actress, spray painted her bright orange, given her a questionable shake-n-go wig and called it a day, but the show did something better.

Simple: Because they feel black people don’t deserve them.

One of my joys recently is the number of people who play the “Hey, if Donald can do it so can... What’s that? I can’t? But, but but.... Can I at least get my lunch out of the break room? No. Again, I didn’t mean to. I just... you don’t have to call them. I’ll just leave” game.

Money

My sister is one of these couponer types (she was a dunce in math growing up but is now a coupon savant) and according to her, the magic of digital coupons is that once they’re all scanned they’re automatically applied correctly. The app does the work for the cashier and the customer but the trick is the customer sele

This is why I always roll my eyes over at certain people who believe in respectability politics’ calls to sanitize black fictional or “reality” TV shows. Racists watch the news, not “Power,” “Empire,” “(insert sport here) Wives,” or any of the “Love and Hip Hop” franchises. This is evident by the amount of grey

Riiiight??  Lawyers are expensive and you work at a dollar store.  Also his kinfolk Josiah saying they don’t dislike any race and then following up with that hashtag.

In like 15 years of working retail I have never once argued with a customer about a coupon. How is it even possible to care about that shit? You work at Dollar General for minimum wage. This is ain’t your money. Why do you care?

Yeah, it looks like crap and its going to air on the DC streaming service that nobody wants. Good luck.

Telling his story is important. American culture is FULL of rape culture. Getting a guy or girl intoxicated before sex (rape) was seen on tv and in movies. It was generally accepted by society. Movies, tv, politics... Everything was (is) about forcing someone into sex. Now we have to UNLEARN what has been accepted for

“Surprisingly, I’m like, dang the city’s not the bad guys in this situation”

I hope this ruined Permit Patty’s whole month.
