Oh fuck off.

Alright, Dratini, we’ve got some hiking to do.

Seriously! I wasted an incense last night at home not realizing it's better if you're moving. The communication about this game from Niantic is really poor.

I couldn’t agree more. The littlest things would improve it dramatically.

I wish Niantic were a little better at communicating things like incense being better if you move. The item text states that it “lures wild Pokemon to your location.” Nothing about moving.

I live in a rural area. Finding any Pokémon to begin with is a chore.

Pokevision made the game fun. I could actually track and hunt down desirable mon instead of waiting through a sea of pidgeys.

Social Fixer used to be my go-to for this kind of thing, but it wound up being broken for quite a long while for me and so I switched to Facebook Purity which I think is an improvement over Social Fixer and is great for FB feed control as well as layout and so forth.

In fact, it may very well have been the sugar. Our son had to have a very minor outpatient surgery that required local anesthesia. The doctor (a qualified, educated, board-certified, science-believing, boringly conventional doc) gave him sugar water before the injections and he didn’t complain at all. I don’t know

What was the favorite for Windows?

What you likely experienced was why they do double blind studies. You gave a “medication” that you believed would make your child better, and you observed that it did. It’s “experimental bias” sort of the placebo effect of observation.

Haha yeah my slavic parents dipped it in a little diluted sljivovic (plum spirit). So I guess it was sort of homeopathy ;)

Yes, yes it was the sugar. I did my internship at an infant ward in a children hospital (1 month - 1 year). We used sugar as an anesthetic when drawing blood or doing LPs (lumbal puncture). Give the kids a drop of liquid glucose or put it on their pacifier and they calm down in a second.

Man, I recently had the biggest and loudest discussion that I have ever had with my friends exactly about this topic, or homeopathy in general, really. We’re all about to start our residencies. One of us, while not being pro-homeopathy entirely, was definitly ok with it existing and having his patients treated by

I would but I don’t want to give my cat ANOTHER reason to stay.

I actually made one of these for my cat and a) it really wasn’t that much work, and b) she loves it and stays in it all the freaking time. Your mileage may vary, of course. I do understand the concept of what you’re saying, because I’ve bought any number of fancy cat beds, shelters, and elaborate cat playgrounds and

Generally at 4am after running around the house for an hour.

This is decided science. After thousands of test eggs, Serious Eats has the definitive answer:

Somewhat-ditto this. BPM databases have been around for years and I don’t find them to be as accurate as any of the downloadable apps that will count the actual BPM of your files, especially if they allow user submissions. Case in point, search for Marvin Gaye’s “Got to Give it Up” and you’ll find 5 different versions

Thanks for the tip. That sounds more useful for a large collection. I’m going to give it a try.
