honestly imagine this with halloween though
honestly imagine this with halloween though
it is. why wasn't the whole movie like that
i can't disagree more with this (scanning was one of the best parts of one of the best metroids) so whatever. metroid prime is impeccable
george rr martin is looking way more svelte recently
wait…is the lede buried here? as in, is it only one movie, and not split into two parts? previously it was Justice League: Part One, so, yeah
i read this and gasped audibly
yeah, this sounds ok
i don't give a shit about whether you think this movie is good or not but "what's up, fuck-mother?" is a phrase so surprising yet obvious in its effectiveness that i feel glad this movie exists to do it. it feels like a bit of dialogue from achewood. it's an incredibly funny four word sentence. rabin denying the…
yeah that's what it felt like. obviously it's more dark knight returns fault (i think) but watchmen's "heroes are gritty now, and are super flawed/bad people sometimes" thing is remembered while the "humanity is worth saving, even if it seems existentially useless to try" part is completely ignored along with all the…
i actually said "are you fucking kidding me" out loud at that first one, and that's as someone who adores that fight and thinks cross is a masterwork.
pleasantville is a wonderful gem and nothing gary ross has made since is nearly as good. i still keep hoping, though.
yes, because it isn't
this is what nobody fucking gets about the man. it'd be easy to write him off if his music wasn't as insanely lucid as it was. the laserpoint clarity there makes the public weirdness all the more baffling.
it's better than anything by depeche mode. anything by new order also is. depeche mode often has slicker production than either act, for sure, but their song structures are more forced, less immediate, and carry less melodic pull. there are moments of greatness (the bassline on personal jesus is phenomenal), and it's…
no, silly, neither is dated because sounds don't have a sell-by, which is what i said.
as a purveyor and creator of very current 2016 synth music: gary numan's "cars" is timeless like plenty aren't. also i strongly disagree with your, well, whole thing
I wrote that response very quickly because my battery was dying fast so it's a little incoherent and mostly unedited. Let me elaborate a bit.
Hotline Miami, as a game, is basically flawless. As an experience, though, it's more complicated. By the way, I was just about to mention the game because nobody else had and within this context that seemed insane (also I just finished the sequel for the first time three days ago so it's very on the mind).
if the adventure time movie did as badly as the powerpuff girls movie, i think it'd truly end my soul
i think it's just great, period. richard kelly never made anything great after it but that one movie is basically a masterpiece. i can see why someone wouldn't like it (the apocalyptic shit and the dreamlike quality of the ending can read as overbearing pretention) but it coheres into something wonderfully weird.
