The reason behind the removals, here and elsewhere, is a tax write-down that streaming services can get by Thanos-snapping their own original series.

Exactly.  People see these Broadway adaptions of movies to see the greatest hits.

Yeah. ALL the jokes are 40 years old.

“People thought it was hilarious; they screamed with laughter,” he said. “Well, nobody is going to be shocked now. The joke is 40 years old.”

“I know what’s funny! It’s the world that’s forgotten!”

Yup, the timing of the cut. That’s where the fish line is. I even like how he’s not excited to see Sallah, just exhaustedly relieved.

Brody is the unsung comic hero of Crusade. He takes it just to the edge of too silly but never crosses it. It was probably my third or fourth viewing before I caught him saying “No, no water, fish make love in it”. I bust a gut.
“I’d rather spit in your face! But as I have no spit...” is another favorite.

Yeah for 12 podcasts. I know people who did that many podcasts just for the shit of it.

40 percent Shia LaBeouf, 40 percent unconvincing monkey swinging shenanigans

I believe that if they ended the opening with the military showing up after the rocket sled part and tightened up the third act (including removing the part where Mutt is swinging through the trees with monkeys), it would be a damn good Indy movie. There’s a lot in there to like. But yeah, Spielberg went a little too

I hope he works with one or both of the Coen Bros again. They seem to bring out the best in each other. He and Tony Shalhoub in different ways fit their world perfectly. They can deliver that heightened artificial dialogue but make it seem natural for their characters.

I feel like I was constantly hearing arguments about Cardi B, but folks are just collectively pretending Ice Spice can rap???

M3gan at #2? It was watch- but also very forgettable Totally agree about Evil Dead Rise tho.

Hells are druguva hell

“Also, HIS PENIS EXPLODED ONCE”

Don’t bother. A certain kind of extremely online personality has decided to understand as much about generative AI as Joe Rogan does about vaccines. It just sucks that is this case it mostly isn’t right-wing chuds but people you otherwise ally with.

tough to do before it comes out!

“It’s ugly”: hear, hear! It looks like any damn Illumination film.

No consideration whatsoever for the simple explanation that the movie looked bad? Every trailer and ad did absolutely nothing to sell me, I was left thinking “I saw this movie already, it was called Zootopia and it was way more charming than the really trite scenes you apparently thought were the most enticing parts

I think it’s simpler: it’s ugly. It doesn’t look like Pixar; it looks like an Inside Out knockoff from the $5 Walmart video bin.

Lightyear was also ugly, as it happens. Was there a big change in Pixar’s art direction just before that?
