“Nobody goes to that restaurant anymore, it’s too crowded!” - Yogi Berra.
Same! Always here for a tasteful and accurate burn.
One thing to remember thematically from last season is that this show doesn’t have must interest in justice/karma. Spoilers from S1:
In fact, the BEST parts are the ones that make you go “WTF is this shit?” - SNL is funniest when it goes absurdist and unexpected.
This is pop culture now - take something that was genuinely unusual/unexpected/delightful once and then just repeat it with diminishing reboots, memes, and sequels until it is ground into dust and everyone is sick of it....
Well, she is a Dame - she’s bound by title and honor to defend the crown, dying in battle on the plains of Agincourt if necessary.

A little lighting of the ol’ black flame candle.
100% agreed. It’s his last movie where the aesthetic feels in service of the plot, and the characters feel like real flawed people that you care about. It shares Tenenbaum’s (my other favorite) plot of “Self-centered asshole realizes too late that he’s not as charismatic and important as he thinks and tries,…
““When I look at these big, spectacular films — I’m looking at you, Marvel and DC - it doesn’t matter how old the characters are, they all act like they’re in college.”
