Just because a show doesn’t go full Game-of-Thrones on its cast, doesn’t make the writers “cowards”. It’s just a different genre of TV.

Takes place in 225 BC, in Qin Dynasty China. Stars Benedict Wong as the first emperor, trying unite the warring states, gradually leaving aside his idealism for brutality. No supernatural elements, pure historic biography.

Maybe they can get Colin Trevorow to direct it, then it can be a stale re-tread of the original Stranger Things, but still manage to upset even the tiresome superfans who wanted a stale re-tread!

For sure, but it’s a different flavor of disappointing - weird, gross, and hammy instead of slick, cynical, and overwrought. I have no love for either movie, but I can see why people are nostalgic for the “old” kind of bad movie. 

I think it’s fair for some to be nostalgic for quirky labor-of-love weird-bad movies like Nothing But Trouble instead of expensive safe bland-bad movies like Rise of Skywalker.

Now they dress up to see Minions: Rise of Gru

I wasn’t feeling the need for a second season for this show (fear of diminishing returns, like Big Little Lies, etc) - but I LOVE Jane Houdyshell, so I may have to tune in for this one...
