Um... actually food prices are phenomenally cheap compared to what they were even 50 years ago. Go back 300 years and it’s even more so. 500 years ago, Kings couldn’t eat as well as the common man can today.

There’s your problem. ONT is more expensive than LAX as a rule. And yeah, it’s an hour or more from Ontario to LAX... I did that flight last year because I upgraded a phone system at our ONT location, and saved my company about $1200 on the round trip by flying in to LAX instead.
