Yeah, he almost certainly knows why he was banned by Twitch. He’s probably playing victim knowing the other party won’t call him out on it unless he opens himself up to further liability, or at least trying to keep himself in the news while making as little as will garner attention. 

Yeah, there’s zero percent chance he doesn’t know exactly why he’s been banned. If he really thought it was unfair he’d be screaming from the hills and filing lawsuits. To use his analogy:

Call me pessimistic, but I really don’t think that if this years evo wasn’t so fucky, they wouldn’t be pulling out from this. They either would have stayed completely silent, or have issued some kind of generic statement about the situation.
