The RT system on the TTC is a time capsule from the 1980's that hasn't been well serviced since its inception.

I know quite a bit of people who are proud that they can drive, but otherwise are usually unable or too lazy to get their own car. That's my logic behind the "peak car" thing. Note that these people are high school students i.e teens.
