I don’t know if other cars have them, but certain Ford Focus from the mid-00's with PZEV emissions have “lifetime” air filter assemblies. People in it for the long term who service their own rides retrofit these with a Dorman solution, or use inexpensive universal “cold-air” intake parts if that’s their thing.

Man, I rail against this “threaded fasteners=bad” mentality. The plastic clip that doesn’t snap after 8 years of driving is rare in my experience. “People aren’t going to service this” feels like a very, very OEM perspective. I’ve watched a few of these and love the technical discussion, though I always feel like his hatred of the “parts bin” is a bit too idealistic maybe, in that he acts like it’s just laziness and money that drives parts bin engineering when there are as many reasons for it as there are against.
Surprised no one’s mentioned it yet, but towing it to the dealer is but one of three options....there’s also having it serviced in place (how many Ford dealers will?) but of bigger note is the “or following the provided instructions” option, which likely amount to “tighten the damn nuts”.

Nope. 50/50 is the nominal torque split (which really wasn’t 50/50 since the weight distribution of a truck is not close to 50/50 and torque follows traction) but not the ability to bias torque.
