Absolutely change your oil every 3,000 miles especially if it is turbocharged and/or direct injected. The manufacturer recommended service intervals are always stretched out way too long and most of your engine issues would be avoided if people just changed their oil! Think Ford Ecoboost timing chain stretch and GM

So Jalopnik advocates for not making freeways wider, yet they wonder why cars have to idle so much. Got it.

Welfare for the rich!

Wow, a pro fossil fuels protest!

You do realize that just leads to more people running from the police right? Or do you not understand human motivation?

The price weirdly varies depending on trim.

Been there done that.

Munro’s fetish for integration and lack of reparability has always baffled me. The Mach-E appears to be built much better and by a company that has been around with experience. And they understand that cars aren’t throwaway items.

I can’t get past this part:

What is an “un-registered” gun? This guy wasn’t supposed to have a gun due to his prior felony but that doesn’t make it an “un-registered” or “registered” gun. There are strict rules and background checks for obtaining a firearm, but we don’t have a gun registry.

This. How many recalls have there been where one option is to fix it yourself?

Why would you be “peeved” about a recall? They figured out a problem and they are fixing it. Better yet, it’s a very easy fix and they are providing instructions on how to fix it if you would prefer to do it yourself so you don’t have to go through the hassle of towing it to the dealer.

Catless downpipes and no government overreach emissions check = problem solved.

I always called this “Toyota Syndrome” as it was naturally occurring in 80s and 90s Toyota Pickups and SUVs as they aged. The new proposed laws are government overreach, just like emissions laws and safety inspections.

This isn’t near as bad as GM illuminating the reverse lights when the vehicle is parked and nobody is inside.

It is not high on my list of concerns. I’d rather drive a truck that gets 14 than a little econobox that gets 35. We have an abundance of oil resources and the more people whine and cry about the environment and wanting to destroy human civilization to so-called save it, the more fuel I want to burn.

When I’m buying a car, I’m not going to care about a pedestrian rating. I do care about the safety rating for people in the vehicle though. As for pedestrians, stay out of the road except for crosswalks!

Headrests. Cars without them scare me.

as usual and as always: if you don’t evade police and don’t resist arrest, these incidents would never happen in the first place. I’m not excusing the police, but where is the accountability for the perpetrator?

So Jalopnik is against police chases now? If departments ban police chases, what incentive do you have to pull over for a cop? Just run. Jalopnik doesn’t understand human motivation.
