This is absurd. The only thing about Cutler that is better than Alex Smith is his arm strength. Smith is much better at decision making and is the 3rd winningest QB over the last 4 years behind Brady and Russell Wilson. Cutler has subjectively had better receivers than Smith and still is not as good.

He went out in the first quarter for concussion evaluation and was then cleared to return. He then came back in and was pulverized on a read option in the 3rd quarter. He was not cleared after that.

I agree it was a late slide. I also understand that the defensive player’s initial hit was legal, it was the way he smacked Smith’s head into the turf that bothered me. It should have been a penalty.

A great set of starting pitchers, and a good closer - agreed. A great core of starting position players - er, if Daniel Murphy and Duda are your right side of the infield, there’s some problems there. They lost way too many outs there.
