In CA in a few places, if you have a FasTrak transponder (used primarily for bridge tolls to bypass the toll plaza),you can use "Express Lanes" which basically give you carpool lane access and bill you for it. I'd HAPPILY pay a reasonable amount to use it whenever I want, wherever I want.
