It’s not just superhero stuff - virtually every action/adventure movie since the 70s has killed the villain.

When I actually saw the original “Cape Fear” around 1995 or so, I was frankly amazed that it didn’t happen in that.

The trope has been discussed - it may boil down to increased distrust of the law enforcement

Damn, beat me to referencing a FAAAAAAAAAAAAAR better baby-related comedy from 1987.

OK, that is not disturbing AT ALL. :|

Dear Savage Love,

I am a student at a small Midwestern college. I never thought these stories were true, but one day...

Do ya want people pretending to be ants?!? ‘Cause that’s how you get them!

We are all entitled to our opinions, but I think it’s great. :)

OK, there is very little spandex in these movies, though.

For those who haven’t seen it in a while, (maybe even since they were kids - I was 10 when it came out), it’s too easy to forget what an expert and textured movie “E.T.” is.

To life immortal!

K.

I did that too.

What’s going to save us from all the comments from people who didn’t read the article carefully?

‘Cause I thought it was pretty clear she started with dried beans in all cases.

I’ve done some acting.

And then the scene ends and you let that feeling ebb away, and if things got hot on set you apologize and hug it out and everyone’s OK.

Fucking shit.

“There are many, many stories about all the shitty things that Hoffman did to Streep as they were making the film. Hoffman, a method-acting devotee, pulled all sorts of moves, thinking these would draw more intense emotional reactions from Streep. He slapped her before a scene. He smashed a glass against a restaurant

“... Henry totally came unglued at the ceremony when he didn’t win, and Christopher Reeve, one of the only movie stars that Henry recognized, had to come over and comfort him.”

GODDAM REAL SUPERHERO.
