The real Freakers were the zombies we met along the way.

Yeah, I mean, in this context it’s a synonym for “asshole,” whereas if it were a white player saying it to a black player it’s obviously much worse for reasons any sensible person understands. But there are a lot of black players in MLB who grew up outside the United States in non-English-speaking cultures. Where does

Presumably they finished everything Anthem had to offer in three days instead of a month.

I hear you. Ubisoft’s Tom Clancy games can be pretty dry. I probably found the main missions of this game more memorable than you did. One tip for you, should you ever re-install it: look for any of the five Contaminated Zones, which are very nicely rendered areas that tell little stories through some scattered audio

Good on Ubi for removing it :) I know it was included on accident but I’m still happy it was removed and appreciate how they handled it.

I like that in this game, same as in real life, it’s incredibly hard for me to tell the difference between a ball and a strike. Which is why I never made it past little league. If I’m playing the game I’m either making contact (hit/HR/ground out/what have you), or going down swinging.

There’s definitely slightly more development in the modern day stuff in Odyssey. You don’t check in with Layla as much as you did in Origins, but the stuff she’s in moves the ball forward in some interesting and weird ways (definitely worth finishing all the Atlantis quests). Though the writing in her sections is

The viking-inspired parts of the Witcher 3 were my favorite, just gorgeous scenery everywhere you look. I hope they go even heavier on the RPG stuff than Odyssey. I want to beguile the viking locals with my mysterious assassin magic.

Hmm, interesting.

Now playing

Since JorRaptor’s video went live earlier this week, I’ve seen fans wonder if AC Vikings would work. The ship stuff might not be suited for naval combat. The villages the vikings would have been around might not be that interesting to climb. Vikings themselves aren’t known for their stealth.

Can someone explain to me what the big deal is? It’s a digital marketplace that has like a 45mb install file. Why do people care so much?

Literally the first thing that I was drawn to with the epic stores was the lack of user reviews. The last couple of years have shown very clearly that those are only abused by mobs online and they can never be trusted. Good of them to prove the point.

Nothing’s going to prove the value of Steam as a store more than abusing its user review system and proving yet again that Valve has no more than a handful of people dedicated to taking care of it and preventing this kind of abuse of its systems.

It’s a six month deal. Seriously if you’re disdain for loading a different program besides Steam is more intense than your love for the game you for some reason can’t play then I don’t know what to tell you. Like, I get it. We all have our hills we die on. But like, I just don’t get it. At all. You do you though.

These are very good questions that I’m going to try to wrestle with and figure out how to answer in the coming weeks, months, and years, both on Kotaku and in my next book.

I’ve been waiting for the Schreier breakdown of how this fell apart far more than the game itself.
