I wonder if critics would have (ironically) taken the movie more seriously if, say, Stallone played the Mariner, so they would have different expectations of “Waterworld,” instead thinking it should have the same tone as “Dances With Wolves”.  But hell, I think every Academy Award-winning actor at some point tries to

I really liked Waterworld when I saw it in the theater. I still do. It had some issues, but nothing that couldn’t have been fixed in the editing room.

So many great, great skits....Buddhists vs. Fat Kids’ Camp....Wicked Sceptre...Ronnie Dobbs.

“Nothing will vanish....except for all the jewels I am going to steal.”

It’s a teaser trailer.

The family used....buckets.

I dunno. The car is beautiful for what it is. The landau roof (color and condition) has me drooling, as does that wooden dash. *And* the patina on the leather seats(!)  The engine bay is spotless, too.  It’s just that $18.5k is a lot of money, and I’ve never been really into Nova’s.

Don't forget "Casual Sex"

I will say that I really liked “Masters of the Universe” (the film). Chalk it mainly up to Frank Langella, but I also thought the villains looked pretty faithful to the cartoon (Evil-Lyn....day-yum)

I remember when “Darkman” came out, it was very often referred to as a “comic book movie”.  It was a superhero film, but was created because Sam Raimi couldn’t get rights to any comic book he wanted.  Technically, not a comic book film, although filmed in the comic book (film) style.

Well, that and the shifting content that causes clicks to register on the wrong link, leading you to have to go back (click) and reselect the link you wanted (click).

All Kinja sites have this annoying feature of constantly updating content such that the pages shifts for at least a solid minute after loading. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve clicked a link on my phone or Fire tablet only to have a completely different article appear because apparently in the time between me

Is Will Forte starring in a new Magnum T.A. biopic?

That looks like the kind of car you could piece together with a Saturday’s worth of salvage yard trips and $500. Fugly.

But then, Dodge would have to completely change it every year.

I really want to say “Sure, it’s a Masarati for $14k”, but this car scares me.  10 owners in 70k miles, some weird thing going on with the airbags (how much are *those* on a Masarati?)...too much risk.

Can’t disagree there, but I’d like to throw out a severely underrated Kilmer drama - “The Salton Sea”. I don’t know why, but I love that movie....it just transported me into the story really well. It’s good (in a twisted way) to watch it and then follow up with the obvious (IMHO) ripoff - “The Number 23", which is

Really? I always thought they looked like an affordable, mass-market attempt at the BMW Z8 style

I love the Soltsice, even though the build quality was crap (every one I have ever seen has panel gap issues....the trunk lid is always the worst).  I’d buy it.

Mr. Show skits automatically win the day.
