I can’t think of a big enough punishment for this kind of crime. I am a son, brother, husband, and father to the women and girls in my life. I can't even imagine one of them having to go through something so heinous.
Fact of the matter was that Paterno et al covered up the abuse in the name of the program, and so the program should have suffered. The players would have been able to transfer without penalty if the program went away for a few years.

(I Agree. 100%. Plus, has no one ever expressed wretched awe at the fact that the John Doe victims numbered well past 100? It really took John Doe 108 for some one to finally say enough is enough? And there were more past him. Did an administrator at PSU say in a meeting, you really can’t trust a bunch of John Does…
Feds can’t pull accreditation. That falls to accrediting groups which are themselves certified by DOE. That said, that the NCAA failed to sufficiently punish Penn State for the crime is one of their greatest failings.
Maybe they’ll try and raise more than the 22k for the sexually abused..
