sometimes i confused darhk's loyal army, like dude you have guns, use it… i only saw they fire it (on close quarter combat) when they are fighting Ray Palmer.

but he couldn't replicate the honest speech where he was in trial hearing those things about him. i think it's red herring. the director know exactly what he was doing.
