Amazon was selling the books much cheaper than Apple. Apple made a shady deal with publishers to sell books at higher prices. not sure why you think amazon is the bad guy in this case.

I could be wrong, but I believe Amazon’s eBook “monopoly” is a result of the company selling the books at a loss, or at very low if any profits. Generally though, they only do that for the most popular new best seller books.

You know why Argentina didn’t make it into the European Championship? Because Argentina is located in South America.

Argentina didn't make it to the tournament because it's not on the European continent, man.

So, you made a choice to have a family and it ruined your life. I’m also betting that you spent some time watching TV, putzing around, etc... We are all given the same amount of time, and you decide what to do with it. You can watch that football game, or edit your novel. You can binge watch Justified or learn to edit

Much appreciated. Us “over 30" schmucks should just pack it in.

Agreed, but there’s a difference between a one star review for “My drink took 10 minutes” and one star review for “I’m out $1000 and this contractor did a shit job I have to pay even more money to fix.” One is overkill, the other is probably not.

You mean design a messaging system that breaks when your friends switch between Android and iOS phones?

Make a note and format it and tag it as cool as you want your notes to look, then use it as a template, its an Evernote feature I myself have not used as much as I could, because I actually prefer plain text notes with no formatting or much fuss.

When I have done this, people stop listening after “Yes”. I have started saying “I have a lot on my plate, but if you can help me with X or if I can get Y done by then I can help out.”

Great, but still waiting for full font formatting (font size, colour, etc.) like on the PC.

I think the system you’re describing sounds interesting, and you’re right that it would be a lot like Netflix recommendations. The problem is that it assumes that what you “like” is a static concept. Ironically, the more we see the same things we like, the less we like them. While this isn’t necessarily an opinion I

Will and Douhat may be assholes, but they’re right that the GOP needs to block Trump’s nomination using the party rules available. The structures in our constitution that moderate the direct rule of the masses - the Supreme Court, the electoral college, bicameral legislature, checks and balances and all that - exist

It’s interesting to go over someone else’s classical music list, as it indicates one’s preferences and background. This one demonstrates a preference for string and piano weighted towards the Classical - Romanticism periods.
