I think its a bit of both. The writing isn't very good, but he doesn't rise above the material, either.

Previous shows at least had a solid lead who clearly understood and imbued their character, a sense of setting/place, a coherent style, and show-runners who had some sort of vision. Even when they failed, they didn't feel quite so… lazy.

The only reason I can think that he left Kun Lun is that it sounds like it was a terrible place.

I need this show in my life. And a supercut of all the Claire Temple scenes across the different series strung together into one origin movie.

I see what you're saying- but at the same time consider this a missed opportunity. IMO having Danny Rand cast as biracial would have been a good way to reiterate the themes of the show as being stuck between two worlds. That said, it still wouldn't have worked out since Asian culture is pretty much used as window

I agree. The fight scenes/choreography should have been for Iron Fist what music was to Luke Cage. I wish they'd chosen a lead with some fighting or dancing experience and given everyone the time and space to really nail the movements.

Love this idea. One Ep. 8 now and Danny can't really carry his own series. Luke Cage did a better job, but I think if they were balancing one show between them (plus the superior side characters/actors), then they might have something.

I've been enjoying the VM books. I wonder how the limited series would integrate those (if at all).
