@klipless: there's a channel available free for roku, i think it's called mp3tunes, that fetches your itunes library from any local or internet computer, and shows it right on your roku box. my parents have a roku and love it, i'm noy buying either a roku or an apple TV until one or both of them gets slingplayer

get slingplayer working on it, for free and backwards-compatible with the slingbox classic, and i'll go out and buy myself an apple TV. otherwise, this does nothing that my PS3 can't already do, and the PS3's user interface is better anyway.

if anyone from team mini USA happens to still be around a few days later:

woah, the car starts under 20 grand and can be had with a VR6 for a little extra?

no.

@OneWhoJumpsToConclusions: i just found out a few days ago that 4.2 can be jailbroken. i had previously thought that 4.1 and 4.2 were still in the process of being hacked.

@RainbowSuspenders: my good reason is that my macbook's battery life sucks, and god forbid it breaks or goes missing while i'm traveling, i'm out the cost of...a new macbook and a new 1TB hard drive. if i buy a gently used tablet on ebay, i'm only down maybe $300, and i get far better battery life than i would with

the asus is exactly the form factor i've wanted for a while now.

@funda: in some countries, CDMA companies have cards. i know south korea telecom had CDMA phones with cards for a while, and like you said, india. in the united states, where 2 major companies own almost all of the CDMA networks in the country, we have to follow their rules. i'm on vacation in israel right now, and

close vote! 13 grand for a miata is awfully steep, even the mazdaspeed version.

@Chairman Kaga: we may have no such luck. but, we're getting a 5 door focus ST, which is probably even better.

@bainelaker: i've had a few sprint non-smartphones that did java. i was always told that verizon used BREW, everyone else regardless of network used J2ME.

@NoOneSpecific: mac's newer operating systems are based off of darwin, to be exact. darwin is some version of netBSD, which is similar in principle to linux, but is not linux. BSD and linux are both unix-based, though, so if you want to get technical, we could have a windows-versus-BSD debate.

@funda: worldwide, GSM is a lot more popular than CDMA. it's easier to mix and match your phone and provider, because of SIM cards, and it's a lot cheaper. i'd know, i just paid $20 for six months of free international incoming calls on my GSM phone, while the CDMA phone that i use at home in the states costs that

oh, wow, that twist at the end was good.

i'd want something at least reasonably practical, but still with power on demand. i love the exhaust note of the 3.2 VR6 motor. i'm sure someone's already put one in a karmann ghia, and i intend to find said car and drive the shit out of it.

it's blustery and snowy out, and i go to school in western new york where i'll be seeing more of the same. i can has rs5?

is it a cool idea? yes, a fast 911 is always great.

i'm having trouble finding the mini here. all i see is a woodsy-looking rally course and some big red monstrosity on wheels.

and yet people look at me funny when i say small AWD coupes are more useful than big unwieldy SUVs.
