Yeah. It's probably just my interpretation of the character. I don't think anyone else really cares about him being representative of an outdated fallen Empire. Most people see him as just a cool guy, which makes sense.

A "great" power in terms of hugeness. I don't think it's a massive stretch to say that James Bond in his original iteration represents a time in Britain's history when they viewed themselves as a "great" global Empire. It's also not a stretch to point out at that time the upper classes were entirely white.
You know Jeeves isn't actually my name, right?
Idris Elba as Mad Max! *Now* we're talking.
Oh, for sure. I suppose what I'm trying to say is that Bond, for me, represents the decline of British power from when it was "great". To me that makes Bond a bit of a historical relic, and I feel like changing his race would alter the chemistry of that role quite a bit.
I think it was quite a good movie, but it wasn't a good Bond movie.
Isn't Fargo *entirely* written by the main guy? I remember hearing that, and I don't think I'm misremembering because everyone was so taken aback by the idea.
Of course there are. I just think Bond's character is firmly established as the old upper class of Britain.
Of course black people existed in old timey Britain, but I wager the upper class echelons of society and government departments were almost (if not totally) entirely white.
The Chinaman is not the issue!
On one hand, I don't care if James Bond was black. Idris Elba would be undoubtedly cool as a British super spy.
Well I should clarify in that I worked for the Victorian government. But yeah its weird that they're still boasting about cutting government jobs.
1) they are boasting about making people unemployed, and
2) a couple months after they cut heaps of people out the agency inevitably has a major fuck up (like the hilarious,…
I think the strength of the first Matrix movie was that it didn't really go that into the philosophy of it all. At its heart it was a simple action movie (most of the plot was the team rescuing Morpheus) with a pretty cool backdrop.
I'm sure being one of the world's most beloved movie stars won't have any effect on the authenticity of his experience.
Liberals are obsessed with renewable energy, but when push comes to shove, will *they* be the ones offering buckets of their own blood? NO.
You've got a good point, but I think the difference is that manufacturing and coal jobs tend to be in one place with certain types of people working in them. There probably isn't a huge standard deviation from the average coal worker (in the same way there isn't a huge standard deviation from the average banker).
I'm liberal and I've worked for the (Australian) Government. It was great.

Yes!
Like the whole campaign to combat the "anti-feminism of Islam" by forcing women to get their titties out at the beach.
That's because they are fools.
