I would disagree that the cast don't deserve the money. If you're on a show that makes bajillions of dollars, and you're one of the reasons why its so popular, then of course you deserve a large salary. it's worth pointing that Tom's accent is better than you think it is. The reason he slips in and out of the Aussie accent into British is because his character is a Ten Pound Pom (ie a post-WW2 British migrant). He basically has a perfect Ten Pound Pom Australian accent.
