Superstore is easily the better of the two new shows NBC has launched in the last week post-Voice.

I was a little surprised to realise the finale is a double episode next week. The show was originally picked up for fifteen episodes, and as I hadn't seen anything to indicate this was reduced, I assumed that this was still the case.

Wrong.

The season is almost half over, so I may as well stick with it to the end to see how they wrap it all up. When really, deep down, I just want to abandon it immediately.

Thank god there was no awkward flashbacks to 1997 where they try to make the older actors look like they're 20 and fail miserably. I was waiting for one to show up, but thankfully there wasn't a single one.

Bleh. I was really hoping they wouldn't take this route by removing Jess completely, allowing Jenny Slate to return occasionally in the future.

It's implied via her comment about how male co-stars are paid more… Read the article.

"I recently took a major pay cut for a role I actually
love. The character is smart and funny and has no use for high heels.
It's a breath of fresh air to go to work every day and tell my
TV husband he's lazy and needs to find his own damn keys. I've never
been happier. But I am definitely not buying a new car
this year."

I'm still upset about the stupid decision to replace Jeff Cardoni's theme - something I'm surprised so few actually realised changed until last week…

The season two version of it is terrible… They replaced Jeff Cardoni and brought John Dragonetti in and replaced the theme with Dragonetti's version of it. :(

According to the press releases for this episode and next week, the episodes are airing out of production order (this was #202, next week is #201) which may explain why it doesn't feel season premiere-ish. Hopefully FX just made a bad call and aired them out of order…

So the finale is getting close…

The real full version was put onto YouTube by the people that created it the same day the episodes were released. https://www.youtube.com/wat…

That becomes a recurring gag in later episodes. :D

Good point. Those expectations should've been crushed by the piano last week.

So that's how they decided to follow up on those awesome final moments of last week? She was lost luggage?

For a show that doesn't get paid to feature Apple's products, they sure do feature them a lot. I remember a first season episode where the main story was about how Phil wanted the new iPad for Father's Day.

It's funny because in the sixth season they upgraded him to a series regular, but then he was downgraded again after just a few episodes (like Sara Gilbert in the second season) because they couldn't get enough material for him. Then they upgraded him again for the eighth season, and since his storyline has been cut

Yeah, it's gone by fast. Excluding the 2006-2007 TV season, she's been on TV screens regularly since September 2002.

Still nowhere near as awesome as the other "actor death" episode Kaley Cuoco was in twelve years ago. To this day, I still haven't seen a sitcom handle an actor's death in such an awesome way like 8 Simple Rules did.
