In its defence, the WLTP has a cycle that runs from a standing start up to 70-73mph, and cruises more-or-less there for 12 minutes.

The EPA Highway cycle averages something like 48mph, and peaks at 53mph.

And then the WLTP ruins that good work by not publishing the “Extra High” cycle separately.

Mitsubishi use Chademo, and there have been Vehicle-to-Grid projects running in the UK using Chademo for a while now.

I’ve driven old Leaf, new Leaf, i3, Zoe, I-Pace, Model S and Model X.
My favourite to drive was I-Pace, plus the i3 had a great small warm-hatch vibe. The Zoe was also great in a completely cosseting old-school French-car way.

“The first beta site is opening in the Bay Area of California this week, and the first non-beta site will be out this month.”

They are not breaking ground on the first non-beta site until next month, so it’s hard to see how it will be live the month before they start construction works on it.

Yes - there’s even a night-and-day difference in motorway lane discipline on either side of the (near-invisible) Netherlands-Germany border.

I wouldn’t want to buy one with that limit in Germany though.”
Lots of people in Getmany and the surrounding countries buy cars which cannot exceed 112mph.

Think how bad the average drive on the roads is.
Then think that half of the drivers are worse than that.
Then think about trusting them.

The risk of fatality in accident varies with the 4th power of road speed. It may be a small proportion of fatalities that happen above 118mph, but it will be a very high proportion of the people involved in accidents above 118mph who end up as fatalities..

“It’s not hard to imagine a world where cars use GPS to limit speeds to regulated speed limits”
Current Teslas will do that today, if you switch on the option.

“...which is problematic for almost any emergency situation.”
In the UK you pull over for emergency-service vehicles to let them past, rather than attempting to

“[do Volvo] consider vehicles moving abnormally slow on the Autobahn to be a safety hazard?”

Like artic lorries?

Just as long as it’s not like the last army who had to face off against an enemy who flew jets as they dropped agent orange on the army’s jungle with utter impunity.

“(or hell, anyone else, given that they have ZERO deals settled)“

Hey - that’s not fair - we’ve agreed a roll-over trade agreement with the Faeroe Islands.  We’ll have all the puffin and whale meat we want.

Last September, Honda stated they were staying in Swindon for the long haul, but that Brexit was a challenge.  Now they are leaving, and the Japanese government are yelling at the UK government about the UK’s mis-handling of Brexit.
But they’re not leaving because of Brexit, oh no.  It’s because they export 90% of the

It’s 84kWh usable - so 80% of 84kWh is 67kWh.

I’ve driven a Tesla S 100D, a Tesla X P100D (but not in Ludicrous mode), and spend half a day behind the wheel of an I-Pace.

The I-Pace was flat out the most fun to drive, by a long way.

We know what happens - a whole bunch of folk turn up to complain that the writer has missed out those important points that must be raised every time an EV is reviewed.

The SEC filing quotes the CBS tv interview where he basically says “I’m not going to bother running my tweets past anyone”. Even though that was part of the settlement.

Here’s the actual document:

Ever since he made that pair of tweets, I’ve been waiting for the appropriate reaction.

I was astonished when it made almost no impact in the wider media.

Tesla went out of their way to ensure Musk’s tweets are official publications, and he flat out stated that 2019's production would be 25% higher than its possible

They make most of their money from making KERS systems for trucks and busses, these days. But there’s also the Dendrobium electric hyper car, the work they’ve done for Jaguar, and other stuff.
