Words hurt like a fist, Mr. Jackson!

My Cousin Vinny reference ftw!

If you "fast forward through all the Schmidt parts," you'll be missing one of the funniest characters on television. Your loss.

I love Paul Giamatti's one-word cameo in this movie ("What?"), as well as Paul Westerberg's two soundtrack contributions. ("Thanks for the book / now my table is steady") Also, this: When Bridget Fonda asks Matt Dillon, "Are my breasts too small?", he takes a perfectly timed dramatic pause, offers a rueful smile, and

That's heartening, meridith. It really is.

I sing the Red Wigglers jingle to this day. No one knows what the heck I'm on about.

Five Graves to Cairo is another overlooked Wilder classic.  I'll never understand why his entire oeuvre doesn't stay perpetually in print.

Where is "A Foreign Affair" out on DVD?  Is this in America?  That's been on my wishlist for years, but even now I can't find it (except as a DVD-R import).

Porco Rosso is my favorite Miyazaki movie.  I know it's slight, and many of his other movies are more ambitious in scope, but I don't care.  I connected with this movie in a way I haven't in any of his others, as much as I love them.  I love every second of it, and there isn't a frame of it I wouldn't happily hang on

Miller's Crossing is my favorite movie of all time — an eccentric pick, perhaps.  But I stand by it.

Agreed.  The most egregious example of this is the exclusion of "That Summer Feeling" from 12 Truly Sad Summer Songs, which even in a format as arbitrary and subjective as an AV Club inventory is just incorrect.

Beer. They have good beer.

I fucking love Porco Rosso.  I recognize that Spirited Away is more ambitious, more accomplished, richer, blah blah blah (don't get me wrong — I love it), but Porco Rosso is one of my favorite movies of all time.  It's simply delightful.  And yes, the French dub is great (and reportedly Miyazaki's preferred dub), but

"I was in The Godfather Part II!"
