agreed... anyone who doesnt agree with her is automatically labeled as a terrible person. theres needs to be a new voice for women in video games because its NOT sarkeesian. At this point, im 99% positive shes using this as publicity, shes a pretty transparent person when it comes to gaining attention.)

I'm objecting to being lumped in with them. I am not lumping myself in with them. I am saying that every discussion I've been involved in with Sarkeesian results in her defenders coming out to tell me I'm one of those "kill yourself" people, and that's neither fair nor true.

See, this bugs me quite a bit. Back when she released her first video, I felt there were some problems with it, so, as best I could, I explained why I felt that way. People chose to take it as "concern trolling," and much, much worse. Her defenders, at the time, remind me of the same people who attack and deride her.

Maeda's review pretty much tears the movie apart, going so far as to state, "Lupin the Third is a deep-pocketed franchise with many possible different stories, however, the 2014 Lupin the Third has almost none of the 'Lupin-ishness' found in previous pieces. If you give a big budget to people without any sense, you

Honestly I think it's just for the shock value click-bait. Y'know, the good old "What you think you know is right is actually false, idiot, and we have the shocking proof!" approach.

Because this is yet another Kotaku article to start a shitstorm regarding feminism. Like half of the things America puts online recently.

My point is, using people no matter which gender as a background or throwaway was always there, in all sort of medias. Movies, books - it doesn't matter, and it always will be a thing, because as You said it's the easiest and laziest way. Cutting whole problem to just women in games is just stupid and narrow-minded.

Internet comments aren't a reliable way of determining demand, as they often reflect the views of a very vocal minority, and people who say that want something in Internet comments don't always actually go out and buy it.

I don't agree that anyone who likes hitting a woman with a bat in a video game is a misogynist. By that logic, you would have to say that anyone who likes performing fatalities in Mortal Kombat is a sadist. What we do in the realm of fantasy does not necessarily reflect who we are in real life.

So since it isn't easy, we shouldn't do it? Ridiculous.

advocating for a little bit of thought being put in to what studios are developing.

Now playing

This is what it reminded me of even though its a different song.

I'm not sure if you meant to reply to me, as this is showing a ton of comments between yours and mine (changes to the comment system?).

good. Don't by the games. I am perfectly fine with people voting with their wallets. Unfortunately it never stops with that. Liberals never say "I don't like something so I won't watch/read/play it" it's always "I don't like something so no one else should be allowed to enjoy it"

WHAT IS LANDO LOOKING AT IN THAT POSTER? HAN'S ARMPIT?

So instead of setting a positive example as role models, you would prefer woman not have the power to make whatever they want and only work for men? Maybe because they can't do it on their own?

Eh.

I don't think you can discount the contribution bad writing has to this. A lot of stuff is just because game writers aren't paid as much, don't get as famous, and so, obviously, just aren't as good.

I seem really sexist when I say this to certain people.
