It looked to me like Terry Gilliam's vision of a George Saunders story.

Oh my goodness, I'd take a day off from work and shotgun this whole series to date if it turned out to be a live-action Venture Brothers tie-in.
Okay. What's the mini-dome? And if they can pick it up and move it around, is it actually a mini-sphere?
I haven't watched this show since episode two, but this review sounds so batshit that I might have to watch: There's now a smaller version of the regular dome that the kids can pick up and move around? And there's also an egg that knocks people out that the military wants? And the reviewer never one mentions how…
@avclub-8b14f79688c0146367914b8240be4128:disqus , that comment is the first good thing to ever come of Signs.
Keeps getting my hopes up then dashing them upon the rocks.
Especially given that Roy said outright that he had been planning on getting her an iPod. Just a subtle bit of character reveal without him even being on screen.
I love the fact that Pam using the knock-off iPod subtly follows up on Roy saying he was going to get Pam an iPod for Christmas.
@avclub-d980b15d49101608dc407770f35b1d75:disqus , you didn't think his point about how thinly drawn the ancillary characters and secondary characters are was valid? I'm a fan of the show and yet I still agree with that.
"I'm down here with the rest of you" is just one of many, many turns of phrase that have gone from being "phrases I first heard on Sports Night" to "phrases that are just normal, accepted parts of my everyday vocabulary." I'm a little scared to show this show to my girlfriend, as she may stop believing that anything…

I don't watch this show but I saw this image on the front page and needed to pop in to see if anyone else thinks that this woman looks a lot like Audrey Hepburn in this photo.
@kingairwick:disqus , I'm not sure who in nu-Who you mean. Every woman, except maybe Vashtra, has adulated the Doctor and has been distinctly less than him. River, until the debacle that was her origin, seemed to like being around the Doctor not because he was so dreamy or because she wanted to fit into his life, but…
I disagree. The character was muddled a bit in season six, but the character still has plenty of potential, and Alex Kingston crushes it every time, even with the worst material. They just need to let the character breathe and not feel the need to slather on another layer of mystery every time they feature her. The…
And he was side-splitting as an ambitious doctor with delusions of grandeur in Fortysomething.
Oh goodness, Bill Nighy would be amazing. I've been hoping against hope for years that they could get him. But when Capaldi was rumored, I had an ah-ha! moment, too. Seeing Pilfrey from Fortysomething piloting the TARDIS is going to be great.
Capaldi would be great, and I'd love to see him flirting with River Song, but he already gave me one of my all-time favorite TV moments when, with all hope of cuckolding Hugh Laurie shattered, he had a spectacular nervous breakdown that ended with him writhing on his side on the floor of a hospital screaming, "Weep!…
Also, Dan's publicist is Josie from Beakman's World? That blows my mind. Beakman's world hit when I was on the cusp of childhood and adolescence, and I didn't realize until this moment that I always assumed Beakman, Josie and Lester were actually accomplished scientists who went back to the lab when the show ended.
Just re-watched the episode in question, and have to agree with @avclub-3e9e0f1010418374c3dd9ccf3b0ed27c:disqus : Saying it's a commentary on Obama is a big, big stretch.
Holy crap, I completely missed this gimmick account! This is exactly why I've avoided the Sports Night comments—and exactly why I abjectly regret doing so.
