Despite the Tesla hate around here.. they are the only real viable electric car out there. Their ranges are the best, and theirs is the only charging network you can actually rely on.

Pure BMW logic.. the i4 is an electric version of the 4 door 4 series... an M version of the i4 is different car than the M4, it’s not an electrified M4.. but on the same chassis..

The irony with the Reagan worship in 2020 is he would probably fall left of center today.

Next week.. a Marble Rye recipe.

Michigan man.. its like Florida man with more flannel and rust.

Looks like the i4 Variant (based on the 4 gran(d) coupe (sedan)) Maybe its going for testing? Is it on a plane or ferry? i3 is next to it, so might all make sense.

Let’s get them to buy one or more of the Nissan plants and have at it.

I’ll give it NP because I learned to drive stick on one, so there is some nostalgia there. (It was my moms car when I got my license)

A great article and fitting tribute Torch. Thank you.

I really respect this site, and love Mazda products.. but I think one of the writers here needs an electric car to be able to speak in an educated manner about them. I’m on my second i3 (both with range extender) and I can tell you that 120ish range works for very few people. Yes as a second car it does, and yes the

This makes sense. It takes months to build a concept car, and they are usually built right down to the last minute. Take out a month of build time, and its understandable they wouldn’t make this deadline.

I had a CTS-V that had poor “range” too.. but unlike an EV; there are gas stations every few miles, with multiple pumps, and it takes 2-3 minutes to completely fill up.

This seems to have been written by someone who hasn’t lived with an EV. 200 isn’t competitive, and when you factor in driving the car in the real world (cold, hot, driving it like a performance car) it’s going to be a lot lower than 200; and there aren’t a bunch of shiny Tesla supercharges to make the charging

I’ve a feeling the Audi variant of this car will only have a single speed as a differentiator from the Taycan

I wanted to love this car.. but I feel there is no excuse that VAG, with all its resources, could not at least meet model S in range, and in some ways performance.. 800v, high efficiency that.. and the car is lacklustre. It might be more consistent in its launches, but it’s also not as fast. It’s prettier and I’m sure

Or just bought into Tesla’s network...

Yes, and I think if it meets expectations it is going to be a real competitor the Model Y.. of course.. the infrastructure to support it is FAR behind the supercharger network..

Nearly a decade and still no real competitor to the Model S.. at any price given how expensive this car is in the top-trim...

The whole hipster “hate everything” ethos in this article (and on this site in general related to Tesla) is getting long in the tooth. Yes, Tesla partially survives on hype.. but they have also done the impossible in this industry. Its been a DECADE and we are finally seeing a real competitor (Taycan) and even that is
