I've actually followed a lot of Fenolio's work. He's done TONS of work with breeding and studying amphibians in light of the massive die-out that's been taking place in recent decades (or longer). Namely his work in S. America captured my attention a few years ago. I'd love nothing more than to be doing the work

He could have meant "decent" as a noun, like when "a solid" is used similarly. Not a solid object, but as in "can you do me a solid and post my bail?".

Bam. That's all I needed to hear.

Wouldn't geological activity have generated enough heat to keep oceans liquid far below the frozen surface? If I'm not mistaken the geology of early Earth was very volatile, no? The process of formation alone, not to mention the moon's orbit being so much closer (hence contributing to constant stress-and therefore

Good point. I got a little tunnel-visioned. The definition of "necessary" didn't really figure into my thinking. Man, I miss college philosophy classes! Thanks for the input, good stuff :)

I did! :)

Goodness.

I think there are lots of photos of the Milky Way, but rather than the whole galaxy they are just of one arm, which is what we see when we look at the night sky and see the "Milky Way". The rest are artist renderings, as Nivenus has said.

Specists? You are a Filmist. Not that this movie is worth making...ruins a good thing. Heston doesn't deserve to see these damn dirty CG apes soil his good work.

Colossus was my favorite. Always loved Wolverine for his berzerker rage and unstoppable-ness therein, but Colossus was fucking awesome, especially if anyone played the old arcade game. Charge him up "RRRAAAAAAAAAAUGHHHHH!" Boom! Badass.

The elimination of the possibility that God doesn't necessarily not exist is not proof that he necessarily does. It's possibly for something to not necessarily not exist and still not necessarily exist. For instance: A venomous bird does not exist (so far as we know). We can thus say it does not necessarily exist,

I like bob_d's take on this...

I was wondering that as well. I'm not sure I understand the description of the new measures...a little help, Esther? PS, boulderholder, Red River Gorge (Slade, KY, USA) is where you need to be! It's climb time!

"mate-recognition species" might more accurately be coined "mate-recognition adaptation" since all species which reproduce sexually recognize mates.

wahoo!

MASTER SWORD? ANYONE?!

It's the forbidden fruit, the moon of knowledge...

I bet the fungus in my grandfather's toes could give that anti-fungal goo a run for its money.

Rossum as in Rossum's Universal Robots? Just curious.

BERT AND ERNIE!
